Outdoor
Advanced microcement carries outside, to a courtyard or a terrace. But outside asks more of it than any room in the house: sun, rain, and a surface that’s wet when people walk on it. That changes the grade, the sealer and the prep, so we don’t sell an outdoor kit off the shelf. Tell us the surface, the area and whether it’s covered, and we’ll price it.
What outside asks of the surface.
The slab or tiles underneath have to be sound, dry and with every joint carried through, same as inside. Then add the weather: wet for days, direct sun on the sealer, and temperature swings that move the slab more than any indoor floor. Each one is a prep question, and the answer’s different for a covered terrace and an open courtyard.

Tiled?
Outdoor tiles get the same treatment as indoor: sound, keyed, grout lines filled flush. What changes is what goes over them.

Why it’s quoted, not sold off the shelf.
Outside takes a coarser grade for grip when it’s wet, and a sealer picked for sun rather than foot traffic; most manufacturers run a different sealer cycle outdoors. Neither is a tick box on the two kits, so we put the job together for you. Send us the surface, the area and whether it’s covered.

Sealer, weather and cleaning.
Outside, the sealer is what stands between the cement and the sun and the standing water, and it’s the layer that gets renewed. Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft broom, not a pressure washer.

Four things people ask about this room.
01 Is microcement waterproof?
No. Be wary of anyone who says it is. Microcement is water-resistant. Sealed properly it shrugs off everyday water and splashes.
What keeps water out of the building is the waterproofing membrane underneath, and in Australia that has to comply on its own. Microcement is the finish over the top. Wet area already waterproofed and signed off? You’re ready for a kit. Not done? Talk to your waterproofer first.
Entry 02 in the FAQ02 What does a kit cost and cover?
One tub does 15 m2. Kits come in 15 m2 (one tub) and 30 m2 (two tubs). Kits from $399 for a 15 m2 wall kit. Floors, wet areas and going over tiles change the price, so call us or send the job and we’ll price it. Wet-area kits add mesh. Over 30 m2 is a supply job and we quote it.
A kit price is the material, not an installed job. If you’re pricing an applicator, their quote covers labour and prep as well, and it’s a different number.
Entry 06 in the FAQ03 Do you deliver?
Free pickup from the studio in Erina. We’ll confirm a time when you order. Courier is quoted by postcode. Tell us where you are. More than two kits? Send us the job and we’ll quote it.
Entry 12 in the FAQ04 Where can it be used?
Walls, floors and wet areas: bathrooms, kitchens, feature walls. Outdoor is quoted per job. There’s no off-the-shelf outdoor kit, so tell us the job and we’ll price it.
Entry 19 in the FAQOutdoor is quoted per job.
Tell us the surface, the area and whether it’s covered, and we’ll price it.
